We kick off our Real Estate Real Easy suburb in profile series with the beautiful, family-friendly Burleigh Heads. Bordered by Miami Headland to the north and Tallebudgera Creek to the south, Burleigh Heads has plenty to offer the holidaymaker and locals alike.

Burleigh Heads Beach and CBD

Burleigh Beach is home to a world-class surf break and hosts the annual World Surf League Burleigh Pro Surf Festival. Most days you will find a number of surfers making the most of this iconic surf beach, voted one of the Gold Coast’s best. Even if surfing is not your thing, the picturesque foreshore is a great place to sit and enjoy a lazy afternoon and watch others out on the water.

Pack a picnic to enjoy overlooking the magnificent boulders with Burleigh Heads National Park as your backdrop and the impressive Surfers Paradise skyline in the distance. Then take a stroll around the headland with its easy walking trails and gorgeous outlook.

It’s just a short stroll past giant pine trees, barbecue areas and children’s playgrounds to Burleigh’s main CBD. Here you will find a vibrant café culture and trendy boutiques. Choose from absolute beachfront fine dining, trendy bars and eateries and the bowls or surf club, or go shopping for treasures in the burgeoning shopping precinct.

But this suburb offers more than just beaches and entertainment. Move away from the beachfront, high rise apartment blocks and holiday units and you’ll find properties set high on the hill or along leafy green streets. Incorporating a major shopping district and light industrial area, with easy access to the M1, Burleigh Heads offers plenty of shopping and employment opportunities.

Local Schools

Burleigh Heads is serviced by 2 local primary level state schools, Burleigh Heads State School and Caningeraba State School. The suburb also falls into the catchment area for 3 secondary schools. Depending on which part of Burleigh Heads you live in you may be zoned for Elanora State High School, Miami State High School or Varsity College.  Nearby private schools include Marymount Primary School and College, Kings Christian College, and Hillcrest Christian College.
